Vista Sheriff's Senior Volunteer Patrol

The Vista Sheriff's Senior Volunteer Patrol program is designed to draw upon the experience of senior citizens from our community. The men and women participating in the Vista program provide valuable assistance to existing staff as it strives to continually improve the quality of life of our community.

Senior Volunteer Patrol's services available at no cost to residents:

  • HOME VACATION CHECKS: The Patrol will check your home regularly while you are away on vacation, providing you with peace of mind knowing that your home is being checked by trained personnel.

  • YOU ARE NOT ALONE: The Department's YANA ("You Are Not Alone") program ensures a weekly personal visit from a Volunteer Patrol team and a daily telephone call to disabled or home-bound senior citizens living by themselves.

  • AN ALZHEIMER'S DIRECTORY is maintained at the Vista Sheriff's Station. Volunteer personnel will come to your residence and take a photograph and description of your loved one. The information contained in this log book is held in strictest confidence. It will greatly assist law enforcement personnel in identifying and returning the citizen to his or her home should he or she wander away and become disoriented.

For more information on any of these free services or to inquire about volunteering, contact the Senior Volunteer Patrol Office at (760) 940-4434.
