Risk Management

The Risk Management Division procures and administers the City’s various insurance programs including general liability, property, workers compensation, Errors and Omissions, special events and other coverage. This division adjusts all claims against the City including investigations, liability analysis, litigation management (working closely with the City Attorney), mediations and settlements. All City contracts are reviewed and approved by risk management. Responsibilities of this division include loss control and oversight of the City’s safety and wellness programs.

Special Event Permit Process

The City of Vista hosts many special events including the Chamber's Strawberry Festival and Holiday Parade; classic car shows; street fairs and other events. The events must follow certain criteria that are specific to what the event entails. In many cases, a Special Event Permit is required, typically if street closure(s) or other traffic control measures on any public street, sidewalk or alley are needed.
