New App Alerts Residents of Nearby Wildfire

The Vista Fire Department encourages residents to be ready for Southern California’s wildfire season by downloading CAL FIRE’s new fire preparedness mobile app. The “Ready for Wildfire,” app offers an emergency evacuation checklist, step-by-step advice on creating defensible space around a house to slow the advance of flames, and maps of active fires in California. The app also includes an option to receive customized wildfire texts or notifications if a wildfire is reported within 30 miles of you.

Students Encouraged to Serve on City Commissions

Students are encouraged to get involved and make a difference in their community by applying to serve on one of the City’s Commissions. Students must be in grades 9 through 12 during the 2017/18 school year. The Youth Commission participates in a variety of youth activities and projects in the City. Application information is available online.

Our Vista Provides City Project Info & Summer Activities

The Summer Edition of the Our Vista Magazine is now available online and has been mailed to Vista residents. Featuring articles include an explanation of the City moving to by-district elections, downtown projects underway, wildfire preparedness tips, the Moonlight's summer season productions, summer day camps and more. The free magazine also provides recreational activities, early childhood programs and senior programs.

Friday Night Splash at The Wave July 21

Come join the fun at the Wave Waterpark on July 21 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm for a special ticketed event. Admission tickets are $9.95 per person (or a $3.00 upgrade with the same day regular park admission ticket). The Wave hosts fun games and competitions for prizes, and discount food will be available. Birthday parties are available to be scheduled during this event. Season Pass holders are invited FREE!
