Vista Skate Parks To Reopen Saturday, Sept. 30

Post Date:09/26/2017 3:16 PM

The City of Vista's two skate parks which were closed on Saturday, September 23, due to criminal activity, will reopen on Saturday, September 30.

A City of Vista employee was robbed on Friday, September 23. The robbery occurred as the employee was closing the skate parks. The employee's City of Vista truck was ransacked and city and personal cell phones, as well as cash were stolen.

On Monday, September 25, San Diego Gas & Electric installed meters to power the security lights in the skate parks. The meters will also allow for the automatic locking of the park gates in the morning and evening hours.

Individuals caught trespassing when the skate parks are closed are subject to a citation and their skateboard may be confiscated by Vista Sheriff's deputies.

The City of Vista opened the new skate parks on September 16, 2017. The skate parks provide features for skaters of all ages - from novice to pro and the parks are open to "all wheels".
